Former Fostoria fire official found guilty of drunk driving

BOWLING GREEN — A former Fostoria fire captain was found guilty Monday morning in Bowling Green Municipal Court of driving while intoxicated.

Brian Anderson, 46, will be on probation until April 11, 2016 and has to pay $600 in fines, according to court records.

Mr. Anderson, a 16-year veteran of the fire department, was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and with a traffic control device violation on Jan. 28 by Bowling Green police.

Mr. Anderson resigned from the department in February prior to a disciplinary hearing. He was demoted from interim chief to captain after two domestic violence arrests. He pleaded no contest to a reduced charge of disorderly conduct, and the second count of domestic violence was dismissed in a plea agreement.

Mr. Anderson’s license was suspended with work privileges. His probation also states he must submit to alcohol or drug tests upon demand, complete an assessment and follow the recommendations, and pay the costs of an alcohol/drug treatment program. He can also have no criminal offenses and no traffic offenses involving drugs or alcohol, according to court records.
