Green Springs driver cited for striking boy

TIFFIN — A Green Springs, Ohio, woman who struck a 6-year-old boy on his bicycle has been cited for reckless operation by the Ohio Highway Patrol.

Shayna Alloway, 19, was exiting a drive-through store on Broadway Street in Green Springs in a minivan about 2:20 p.m. Sunday when her vehicle struck a bicycle ridden by Tye Warwick of Green Springs, according to reports. The van continued north on Broadway, dragging the boy underneath about 90 feet before stopping.

The boy was flown to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, where he was in fair condition Friday.

The misdemeanor charge was filed in Tiffin Municipal Court.
