Two men arrested on the Ohio Turnpike and charged with possessing more than 100 pounds of a particularly potent strain of marijuana called BC Bud were indicted by a Lucas County grand jury Monday.

Donald Shipley, 53, of Long Beach, Calif., and Robert Shipley, 30, of Vancouver, were each charged with possession of marijuana and trafficking in marijuana. They are in custody at the county jail in lieu of $250,000 bonds. If convicted, they face up to 16 years in prison.

Ohio Highway Patrol troopers stopped an eastbound sport utility vehicle for speeding on the Ohio Turnpike in Springfield Township May 7. A drug-sniffing dog was used, and a search turned up six duffel bags containing vacuum-sealed packages of the drug — valued at more than $530,000 — and $3,073 in cash.
