A Toledo man who admitted his role in the robberies of two area businesses has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Justin Oliver, 30, of 923 North Superior St., No. 4, pleaded guilty May 3 to two counts of robbery. He was convicted of using a knife to rob the BP gas station on Main Street in East Toledo and a Family Video on West Alexis in Sylvania Township. The incidents occurred within days of each other in mid-January.

Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Stacy Cook sentenced Oliver on Monday to five years in prison on each charge and ordered the sentences to be served consecutively. She ordered Oliver to pay a total of $925 in restitution.

As part of the negotiated plea, an additional count of aggravated robbery was dismissed.
