A jury found a Fernwood Avenue man guilty of murder Friday for his role in the shooting death of a man in North Toledo late last year.

Terrance Taylor, 47, will be sentenced at 1 p.m. July 18 on one count each of murder and aggravated robbery, both with firearm specifications. He was on trial in connection with the death of Mark Ward, who was found in a residence shot seven times on Dec. 12.

Taylor was originally on trial for a more serious charge of aggravated murder, but found guilty by the jury of the lesser murder charge. Prosecutors and testifying witnesses told jurors he handed the 40-caliber handgun used to kill Mr. Ward that night to John Winfield, 29, of Flint, Mich. The murder conviction carries a 15-years-to-life sentence.

Winfield, who is scheduled to go to trial March 5; faces the possibility of the death penalty if convicted.
