Perrysburg woman gets 90 days in alcohol case
7/2/2011A Perrysburg woman who admitted she furnished alcohol to minors has been sentenced to 90 days in jail and ordered to write an essay on the consequences of alcohol poisoning on juveniles.
Visiting Judge Mary Trimboli ordered Julie A. Morgan, 45, to report to the court July 19 for transport to the Wood County jail, placed her on probation for three years, ordered her to undergo a mental-health evaluation, and pay $500 in fines and court costs.
Mrs. Morgan pleaded guilty this week in Perrysburg Municipal Court to tampering with evidence, purchasing alcohol for minors, and allowing juveniles to consume alcohol — all first-degree misdemeanors.
Assistant City Prosecutor Cynthia Smith said Mrs. Morgan purchased alcohol for juveniles, knew they were consuming the alcohol at a juvenile’s home, and later tried to conceal evidence in the case. She said that in exchange for Mrs. Morgan’s guilty pleas, prosecutors agreed not to pursue additional charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Six juveniles were charged with underage consumption stemming from the April 1 incident.
