A Toledo man charged with murder was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday morning in Toledo Municipal Court.
Byron Mitchell, 20, turned himself in to Toledo police about 9 a.m. Monday in response to an arrest warrant issued July 6 for allegedly shooting and killing Eric Daniels, 40, of Toledo.
Mr. Daniels was shot in the back at an impromptu car show at Monroe Street and North Detroit Avenue about 7:50 p.m. July 3. He was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, where he died of his injuries July 5.
Mr. Mitchell is accused of “knowingly firing a 9mm semi-automatic handgun at Eric Daniels … that resulted in Daniels’ death,” states an arrest warrant.
Mr. Daniels is Toledo’s 10th homicide victim this year.
