WAUSEON — A Swanton man who raped two young girls has been sentenced to 20 years to life in prison.

Robert A. Cooley, 41, pleaded no contest in May to two counts of rape involving two girls under age 13. He had been indicted by a Fulton County grand jury on nine counts.

Fulton County Common Pleas Judge James Barber sentenced Cooley to a mandatory term of 10 years to life in prison on each count and ordered that if released from prison, he must register as a Tier III sex offender for life. Cooley received credit for 309 days he spent incarcerated.
