Bond was set at $50,000 each for two men charged with the burglary of a central-city home where two people were found shot to death just days earlier.

Dontae Elliott, 22, of 3540 Erie St., and Frank Stewart, 46, of 2264 Auburn Ave., were in Toledo Municipal Court Thursday morning, charged with burglarizing 2226 Sanford St. on Saturday. On Sept. 29, Andrew Baker and Tanja Cathey, both 28, were found dead in the home from gunshot wounds.

In addition to the bond, a preliminary hearing was set for Oct. 13 for Mr. Elliott. Stewart’s arraignment was continued until Friday so he can hire an attorney or one can be assigned to him.

The two allegedly loaded a washing machine, dryer, and deep freezer into a truck, which was left outside the home when the suspects fled.
