Voyeurism charges brought against former Wood County park ranger
3/8/2012BOWLING GREEN — A former park ranger with the Wood County Park District was indicted on charges he secretly photographed park visitors in various states of undress in rest rooms.
John T. Millinger, 26, of Toledo, was indicted by a Wood County grand jury on 11 counts of voyeurism, three counts of theft in office, and one count of tampering with evidence. Wood County Prosecutor Paul Dobson said Mr. Millinger allegedly used his position as a park ranger and used county-owned property to commit the offenses.
Officials became aware of possible improprieties last year when a visitor to the W.W. Knight Preserve in Perrysburg Township discovered an iPod with its video recorder on hidden behind a “no smoking” sign in a rest room. An investigation was launched that turned up other alleged incidents.
Wood County Parks Director Neil Munger said Mr. Millinger, who had worked for the park district since September, 2010, was placed on administrative leave after park officials learned of the investigation. Mr. Millinger resigned the same day.
