BOWLING GREEN — Those who owe unpaid fines and court costs to Wood County Common Pleas Court could face collection actions if those delinquencies persist.

Wood County Clerk of Courts Cindy Hofner and Prosecutor Paul Dobson have announced they are working together to go after the unpaid fees. The prosecutor’s office recently began notifying individuals who owe fines and costs that it will file collection actions that could result in garnishment of wages, forfeiture of property, or seizure of tax refunds.

“What we’re trying to do is take a little of the burden for paying for the court off the taxpayers and place it on those who appear in court for the crimes they have committed,” Mr. Dobson said in a written statement.
