FINDLAY — A Tiffin man was sentenced to life in prison Wednesday for beating and killing a woman last March.

Daniel M. Bixler, 22, pleaded guilty in January in Hancock County Common Pleas Court to aggravated murder, two counts of kidnapping, felonious assault, and tampering with evidence for the death of Vera Jo Reigle, 24, of Findlay. Train operators found her body on the tracks of a CSX trestle bridge over the Blanchard River. An autopsy showed she died of multiple stab wounds.

Bixler’s girlfriend, Nicole Peters, 18, of Fostoria, is serving a 23-year prison term for her role in the killing.
