A Toledo man facing trial in the shooting deaths of a mother and her teenage son was indicted by a Lucas County grand jury Wednesday on a charge that he's a member of a gang.

Daurin Patton, 26, of 1202 Champlain St. was charged with one count of participating in a criminal gang, a second-degree felony. If convicted, he faces up to eight years in prison.

He is in the Lucas County Jail in lieu of $2.25 million bond on another case. Patton is charged with two counts of aggravated murder with a gun specification and one count of aggravated robbery with a gun specification in the deaths of Veronica Serrano, 34, and her son Timothy Blair, 14, at their Page Street home Nov. 26.

He is set for trial in that case April 23. He faces up to life in prison if convicted.
