A 21-year-old murder suspect was ordered today to be held in the Lucas County jail in lieu of a $750,000 bond.

Quintin Helm, of 635 E. Hudson St., appeared for arraignment in Toledo Municipal Court Judge C. Allen McConnell, on one count of murder.

The suspect is accused in the Nov. 30 shooting death of Tyrone Patterson, Jr., 23, who was shot just after midnight at East Delaware Avenue and Walnut Street.

Patterson was shot once in the hand and once in the chest, according to the Lucas County Coroner’s Office.

Helm is scheduled to appear in court again on May 9.

There were several women in the courtroom who stifled their cries and wiped tears from their face during the arraignment although it’s unknown if they were there on behalf of the victim or the suspect.
