Toledo law partner presented award

Honor shows 'compassion, care'

Neema M. Bell, partner in the Toledo office of the law firm of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick LLP, is the recipient of the Mercy College of Northwest Ohio Misericordia et Cura Award.

The award recognizes alumni or community leaders who act with "compassion and care."

Ms. Bell, whose principal area of practice is civil litigation with an emphasis in commercial litigation, has extensive experience in various types of commercial defense litigation and has substantial experience in media and constitutional law, class actions, medical malpractice, and employment law, according to the law firm.

Selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America, she is a member of the American and National bar associations. She is a member and officer of the WGTE-TV board of trustees, the University of Toledo Foundation board of trustees, and the YMCA/JCC regional board of trustees.

Ms. Bell is a member of the University of Toledo College of Law National Advisory Council and the Toledo Chapter of The Links Inc. She formerly served on the Mercy College of Ohio and Mercy Health Partners boards of trustees, according to the law firm.

Valedictorian when she graduated from the University of Toledo College of Law, she received bachelor and master's degrees from Bowling Green State University.
