A Lucas County grand jury has decided no further investigation is needed into the death of a man killed by an off-duty Walbridge police officer.

Travis Johnson, 21, was fatally shot June 23 after he tried to rob two men as they walked on a West Toledo street.

Officer Matthew Morland, who was off-duty at the time, shot Johnson six times, according to an autopsy by the Lucas County Coroner's Office.

Authorities said Officer Morland and the friend were confronted by Johnson, armed with a gun, about 2:30 a.m. A mask and a loaded gun were found at the scene.
