BOWLING GREEN -- Bond was set at $500,000 Thursday for a Bowling Green man charged in the death of his 3-month-old son.

Brian Steinmiller, 31, entered not-guilty pleas in Wood County Common Pleas Court to murder, involuntary manslaughter, and four counts of endangering children stemming from the May 5 death of his son, Carter, from abusive head trauma and other injuries. After setting bond, Common Pleas Judge Robert Pollex scheduled a pretrial hearing for Sept. 18.

Mr. Steinmiller was held Thursday in the Wood County jail.

The baby's mother, Rebecca Steinmiller, 25, is charged with one count of endangering children for allegedly failing to seek medical care or alert authorities when she knew the baby's arm was broken.
