A Perrysburg man charged in a wrong-way crash on I-75 that caused one death has been found competent to stand trial.

Christopher Jones, 35, is charged with one count of aggravated vehicular homicide and three counts of vehicular assault. Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Ruth Ann Franks ruled Monday that Mr. Jones was competent to proceed to trial.

The trial is scheduled to begin Monday. If convicted, he faces up to 9 1/2 years in prison.

The crash occurred about 10:50 p.m. Oct. 15 in the left north-bound lane of I-75, just south of the Phillips Avenue exit.

Matthew Davis, 37, died within seconds of the crash. He was a front-seat passenger in Dawn Lerma’s vehicle when it was hit head-on by a car going the wrong way. Ms. Lerma, 40, and three youth passengers were injured.
