A Toledo teen arrested as one of two suspects charged with sexually assaulting a woman in her apartment was certified Friday to stand trial as an adult.

Anthony Mitchell, 16, is charged with two counts of rape and one count each of aggravated robbery and aggravated burglary. Judge Connie Zemmelman made a ruling immediately after a hearing in which the victim, 23, and investigating detective testified.

Also charged is Kenneth Moore, 19, of 801 Magnolia St., who faces two counts of rape and one count each of aggravated robbery and aggravated burglary, each with gun specifications. He has an Aug. 27 trial date set before Common Pleas Court Judge Linda Jennings.

The two suspects are accused of going to the victim's Ryan Road apartment in South Toledo on July 16, claiming to be selling candles for a fund-raiser.

She reported she was forced to strip and to perform oral sex and was threatened with guns before her assailants left with property.

The Mitchell youth is in custody in lieu of $300,00 bond.
