MONROE — Bond was set at $75,000 each for two women accused of robbing a Monroe Township convenience store, authorities said.

Angela Anthony, 32, and Loralei Longan, 26, were arraigned Thursday in First District Court of Monroe by Judge Mark Braunlich. Charged with armed robbery, each was ordered held in Monroe County jail in lieu of the bond pending their preliminary hearing Aug. 29, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

The robbery at the Stop and Run store, 2062 S. Custer Rd., occurred shortly before 7:30 p.m. Tuesday when a masked woman pulled a handgun and demanded money from the cashier, deputies said.

Money in hand, the suspect fled the store, tucking the gun into her pants’ waistband.

Investigators searching the area learned the robber had fled to a nearby park and entered a green, older model Ford Thunderbird or Mercury Cougar driven by another woman.

Searchers called in an aviation unit and arrested the pair; the suspects’ vehicle also was found and evidence recovered, deputies said.
