Man indicted for casino cheating misses court
8/17/2012The first of 11 people recently indicted for allegedly cheating at the Hollywood Casino Toledo failed to appear for arraignment Thursday in Lucas County Common Pleas Court.
Sarhad Matti, 35, of Warren, Mich., is charged with one count of an unnamed casino felony offense. A fifth-degree felony, the charge is punishable by up to one year in prison.
He is accused of cheating in blackjack, then creating disturbances to retrieve the bet. He was ordered to appear by a summons.
Judge Ruth Ann Franks issued an arrest warrant for Mr. Matti and set bond at $150,000.
