TIFFIN — A former private tennis coach who had sex with a 17-year-old student was sentenced Monday in Seneca County Common Pleas Court to 10 years in prison.

Visiting Judge Russell Wiseman of Crawford County ordered David A. Kimmet, 64, of Tiffin to pay a $1,000 fine and $640 in restitution to the victim. Kimmet was classified as a sex offender. The judge ordered that after his prison sentence ends, he register his address with local authorities every 90 days for life.

Kimmet pleaded guilty in September to one count each of sexual battery and illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material. Prosecutors said he had a sexual relationship with a female student between January and March and that child pornography was found when authorities searched his home.
