The chairman of Bowling Green State University’s department of architecture and environmental design was found guilty Tuesday in Toledo Municipal Court of various charges related to a September drunken-driving incident.

Stanley G. Guidera, 56, of Perrysburg pleaded no contest to two counts of disorderly conduct, driving under the influence, failure to stop after an accident, and operating a vehicle without reasonable control. He was originally charged with felonious assault, aggravated vehicular assault, two counts of driving under the influence, failure to stop after an accident, and failure to control.

Mr. Guidera was released on his own recognizance until sentencing Jan. 8.

Mr. Guidera was suspended with pay from BGSU last month after officials became aware of the charges.

Mr. Guidera is accused of striking Toledo Public Schools resource officer David Vnuck with his vehicle about 10 p.m. Sept. 21, then trying to flee. The officer was not seriously injured.
