A victims advocate group is encouraging the public to ask the Ohio Parole Board to keep a Lima, Ohio, man behind bars for his role in the 1989 slaying of a Putnam County man.

Jack T. Quinn, 44, is to appear before the parole board Dec. 13 or 14 at Marion Correctional Institution where he is serving 15 to 50 years for complicity in the Sept. 7, 1989, death of Jeffrey B. Schumacher, 34, of Vaughnsville, Ohio. Mr. Schumacher was stabbed during a break-in.

Mark Gildemeister, 44, of Lima, is serving 30 years to life for aggravated murder and aggravated burglary for the same incident. Quinn was denied parole in 2009.
