New trial date set for 3 in toddlers’ shootings

A new trial date was set for three men facing murder and assault charges related to the August shootings of two toddlers in the Moody Manor apartment complex, resulting in a 1-year-old girl’s death.

Keshawn Jennings, 20, of 244 Wasaon St.; James Moore, 20, of 2037 W. Terrace View St., and Antwaine Jones, 19, of 3145 Cottage Ave., each face 11 charges. Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Frederick McDonald set a Jan. 28 trial date and continued a $5 million bond for each.

The men face one count each of aggravated murder, murder, and improperly discharging a firearm into a habitation, two counts each of attempt to commit aggravated murder and attempt to commit murder, and four counts of felonious assault, each with gun specifications.

The charges are the result of an Aug. 9 shooting. Keondra Hooks was killed and her sister, Leondra, 2, was injured.
