A Toledo man charged with aggravated robbery for his alleged role in the shooting death of Joe Lengel, Jr., was arraigned today.

Chad Brown, 35, of 839 Walbridge Ave., was ordered to be held in the Lucas County jail in lieu of $500,000.

Supporters of Mr. Brown, in Toledo Municipal Court for the arraignment, declined to comment.

Police allege that Mr. Brown and Matthew Managhan, 34, of 1156 South Ave., had a role in planning a robbery, which was apparently executed on Nov. 19.

Mr. Lengel, 57, was robbed by three men and fatally shot as he arrived at his South Toledo gym, Intensity CrossFit Gym, 757 Warehouse Rd., that morning.

Mr. Managhan is also charged with aggravated robbery and is being held in the jail in lieu of a $500,000 bond.

Three additional men have been charged with aggravated murder and aggravated robbery in the same incident.

Deitrekk Boone, 19, of 1416 Beecham St., has not yet been arrested.

Arrested Wednesday night were Devonte Harris, 19, of 1326 Gordon St., and Jason Kuhns, 31, also of the Beecham address.

Each are being held in the jail in lieu of $1.5 million bond.
