A federal jury in Detroit found two Toledo residents guilty Friday of robbing the Monroe County Community Credit Union in 2009.

Quentin A. Sherer, 33, and Martin L. Tucker, 33, were found guilty after a weeklong trial before U.S. District Judge Robert H. Cleland, according to the FBI’s Detroit Field Office. The two men had each been indicted on charges of bank robbery and brandishing a firearm in a robbery.

The credit union was robbed July 16, 2009, by two gunmen who stole $5,379 and fled in a car. The robbers left a trail of evidence, including rubber gloves and a black mask, when they abandoned the car in Toledo, authorities reported.

Authorities said they found matches between DNA extracted from the items and Sherer’s and Tucker’s DNA.

Sentencing is April 9.
