Three California men have been sentenced in Lucas County Common Pleas Court to four years of community control, including six months in custody at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio, for drug charges resulting from a stop on the Ohio Turnpike.

Jonathan Soeun, 20, and Da Seth, 25, both of Stockton, and Walter Rath, 21, of West Sacramento each pleaded guilty to trafficking in marijuana. In addition to incarceration time, Judge Ruth Ann Franks ordered the men to perform 100 hours of community service and pay a $5,000 fine each.

Ohio Highway Patrol troopers stopped the men about 8:30 a.m. Sept. 18 for a following-too-close violation. After calling in a drug-sniffing dog, troopers found 65 pounds of marijuana, worth an estimated $416,000, hidden inside the car.
