BOWLING GREEN — A Bowling Green man Friday admitted to his part in a drunken driving crash that killed a passenger in his car.

Matthew Nissen, 24, pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide and operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. Wood County Common Pleas Judge Alan Mayberry set sentencing for March 22.

Nissen veered off Bloomdale Road in southern Wood County on June 17, overcorrected, and went off the other side of the road. His vehicle rolled several times and struck a tree. He was seriously injured, and his passenger, Mitchell Aring, 30, of Pemberville was pronounced dead at the scene.
