A Toledo man who shot into a car, killing one man and injuring another, was sentenced today to 11 years in prison.
Damar Smith, 18, of 909 Vance St., had entered an Alford plea in Lucas County Common Pleas Court earlier this month to a reduced charge of involuntary manslaughter. He was 17 when he fired into a car near Tecumseh and Miller streets May 30, killing Vicktron Moore, 30, and injuring Terrance Cohen, 37.
While the situation had been portrayed as a drug deal, defense attorney Dave Klucas said from the statements Mr. Cohen had made to police, it had “nothing to do with pills.”
