Lucas County Court Appointed Special Advocates, or CASA, has selected three members for its advisory board.

They are Mark Wagoner of Ottawa Hills, a litigation partner at Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick and former Ohio Senate majority leader; Joe Sharp of Rossford, chief executive of Thread Marketing Group, and Kate Malone of Holland, a nurse at St. Francis DeSales High School and a CASA volunteer since 2008.

CASA volunteers are everyday citizens who are trained to investigate and monitor child abuse cases. CASA volunteers work for Lucas County Juvenile Court judges and are sworn officers of the court. CASA’s mission is to advocate so that child victims find safe, permanent, nurturing homes and do not get lost in the child welfare system.
