Mother reindicted in death of baby

A Toledo mother charged with causing her 6-month-old son’s death was reindicted Wednesday by a Lucas County grand jury on a more serious charge.

Amanda Bacon, 25, of 504 W. Alexis Rd., was indicted on aggravated murder in the death of Avery Glenn Bacon. She is accused of throwing the infant Dec. 16, causing multiple skull fractures and brain injuries. He died Dec. 18.

Jeff Lingo, chief of the prosecutor’s office’s criminal division, said the new indictment came after prosecutors were “provided with further medical evidence which indicates there were multiple injuries to the skull, indicating an intent to cause death.”
