A Toledo man who punched a police sergeant at the TARTA Park Station was sentenced Thursday to four months in jail.

David Riley, 30, of 2243 W. Laskey Rd., pleaded guilty last month to misdemeanor assault stemming from a Nov. 23 incident in which Sgt. Diane Chandler was struck after she attempted to arrest him for refusing to leave the station at Erie Street and Madison Avenue.

Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Ruth Ann Franks ordered Mr. Riley to spend four months at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio, but gave him credit for 84 days he has already served in jail. Mr. Riley also was ordered to have no contact with Sergeant Chandler.
