A Toledo man pleaded guilty Tuesday to robbing the Key Bank branch on Main Street in East Toledo.

Dennis Thompson, 32, of 350 Oconnell St., entered the plea before Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Frederick McDonald who found him guilty and set sentencing for March 5. As part of a plea agreement, Michael Bahner, an assistant Lucas County prosecutor, said the state would recommend a maximum of 18 months in prison.

Thompson admitted in court that he went to the bank Nov. 28, passed a note to a teller demanding money, and fled with the money. Mr. Bahner said the teller gave Thompson “$800 of dye pack currency,” which exploded on Thompson’s clothing after he left the bank.
