Mother’s trial in death of her baby gets delayed

Following her reindictment by a Lucas County grand jury last week, the trial date for a Toledo mother charged in her 6-month-old’s death was postponed Tuesday until March 26.

Amanda Bacon, 25, of 504 W. Alexis Rd., was indicted last week for aggravated murder in the death of Avery Glenn Bacon. She is accused of throwing her son Dec. 16, causing multiple skull fractures and brain injuries. He died Dec. 18. Ms. Bacon pleaded not guilty before Common Pleas Judge Frederick McDonald, who set bond on the new charge at $100,000.
