Toledoan gets 11 years for 3 bank heists in city

A Toledo man who robbed two downtown banks on three occasions was sentenced Tuesday to 11 years in prison by Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Stacy Cook.

Oscar Banks, 47, of 828 Magnolia St. pleaded no contest and was found guilty of three counts of robbery April 22 for holdups Dec. 4 and Jan. 2 at the Huntington Bank, 519 Madison Ave. and Jan. 3 at the PNC Bank, 405 Madison Ave.

Judge Cook ordered the sentence consecutive to an 18-month term ordered by Judge James Bates March 12 for a concealed-weapon conviction.
