A Toledo teenager will be arraigned today on charges of shooting into a house, wounding one person, and then, the next day, cutting the face of a Toledo police officer.

Deleno Stine, 18, of 1645 Western Ave. is charged with improper discharge of a firearm into a habitation, felonious assault, and felonious assault on a police officer.

Police accuse Mr. Stine of shooting into 866 Geneva Ave. in South Toledo on Friday night. The victim, Sonya Quintanilla, 36, was hit in her left arm, according to court records.

Mr. Stine is also accused of using a knife to cut the face and clothing of Detective Deb Hahn on Saturday night.

The detective was leaving work on an off-duty detail at 151 N. Summit St. at about 8:50 p.m. when she was flagged down by an 18-year-old woman who said she was assaulted in front of 136 N. Summit.

As the detective and victim were speaking, a man ran up to the teenage victim and began to assault her. Detective Hahn intervened and was assaulted, police said.

The man and the detective were wrestling when he cut the officer’s face and clothing.

The suspect fled along Monroe Street and jumped into the Maumee River in an attempt to elude police. He then climbed to shore and was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center to be treated for hypothermia, police said.

Mr. Stine was booked into the county jail at 2:44 a.m. Sunday.
