A former athletic trainer at Clay High School was indicted today by a Lucas County grand jury on two counts of sexual battery.

Melinda Rober, 35, of 2552 106th St., allegedly engaged in sexual conduct with a 17-year-old boy at the high school in Oregon where she worked as a trainer contracted through ProMedica. According to the indictment, the first incident occurred between December, 2011 and May 31, 2012, while the second incident occurred between September, 2012 and Oct. 31, 2012.

After Ms. Rober’s arrest on the charges in April, ProMedica issued a statement saying she was no longer employed by the company. School officials said they contacted Oregon Police immediately after learning of the allegations.
