A Lucas County grand jury today indicted two men for the shooting death of a carryout owner at his Waterville Township home.

James Allen, 18, of 1732 E. Westland Gardens Rd., and Ronald Rooker, 32, of 8930 S. River Rd. in Waterville Township, were indicted for aggravated murder, aggravated burglary, and aggravated robbery, each with a firearm specification. If convicted, they could face life in prison.

The charges stem from a May 18 home invasion in which three masked men dressed all in black broke into the South River Road home of James Safadi, robbed him of cash, jewelry, and guns, then shot Mr. Safadi to death.

Investigators with the Lucas County Sheriff’s Office have said they expect at least two other arrests in the case. Both Mr. Allen and Rooker are being held in the Lucas County jail in lieu of $5 million bond.
