A Toledo man set to go to trial for the murder of his estranged wife told Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Myron Duhart Wednesday that he wants a new attorney.

Robert F. Carter, 43, of 1143 Belmont Ave. had written four letters to the court expressing dissatisfaction with his court-appointed attorney, Keith Mitchell. Carter is charged with aggravated murder in the Dec. 24 shooting death of Wendabi Triplett, 41, at her home.

Judge Duhart agreed to hold a hearing on Carter’s request Wednesday.
