Bond was set at $1.5 million Thursday for a Toledo man charged in the Dec. 31 shooting death and robbery of Brian Minley.

Daquaine Booth, 25, of 2828 Weber St., was arraigned before Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Dean Mandros, who appointed attorney Merle Dech to represent him.

Booth entered not guilty pleas to charges of murder, aggravated robbery, and aggravated burglary in the slaying of Mr. Minley, 24, who was robbed and shot in his home at 1241 Berdan Ave.

Judge Mandros set bond at $1.2 million each for co-defendants Kevin Brooks, 23, of 3208 Maple St., and Ashley Hundstrucker, 23, of 3940 Lockwood Ave., who were brought into court separately from Booth. They are charged with complicity in the commission of a murder, complicity in the commission of aggravated robbery, and complicity in the commission of aggravated burglary.

Frank Spryszak, an assistant Lucas County prosecutor, asked for the higher bond for Booth, saying he was believed to be the “mastermind” behind the attack and the one “who pulled the trigger.”
