A LaSalle, Mich. man charged in a wrong-way crash that killed a Toledo man on Christmas Day is expected to enter into a plea agreement in the case next month.

Adam Tunison, 41, appeared today before Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Frederick McDonald, who scheduled a hearing for July 16. Tunison, who is being held in the Lucas County jail on a $100,000 bond, is charged with two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide for the death of Juan Garcia, Jr., 26, who was killed when a car traveling the wrong way on I-75 between Ottawa River Road and the I-280 interchange struck his vehicle head-on.

Tunison’s attorney, Theodore B. Tucker, III, told the court they were “close to a plea bargain arrangement” with prosecutors, but needed to secure 911 tapes from the day of the crash and verify Tunison’s prior criminal and traffic record.
