A LaSalle, Mich., man charged in a wrong-way crash that killed a Toledo man on Christmas is expected to enter into a plea deal in the case next month.

Adam Tunison, 41, appeared Tuesday before Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Frederick McDonald, who scheduled a hearing for July 16.

Tunison, in the Lucas County jail in lieu of $100,000 bond, is charged with two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide for the death of Juan Garcia, Jr., 26, who was killed when a car traveling the wrong way on southbound I-75 between Ottawa River Road and the I-280 interchange hit his vehicle head on.

The defense, including Theodore B. Tucker III, said they were “close to a plea-bargain arrangement” with prosecutors.
