City child sex trafficker 
gets 15 years in prison

A Toledo man convicted of sex trafficking of children was ordered to spend 15 years in prison Wednesday.

U.S. District Court Judge James Carr sentenced Roy “Lucky” Calhoun, 30, of 2745 Fremont St., who pleaded guilty last year to conspiring to obstruct a sex trafficking investigation and sex trafficking of children. Judge Carr also sentenced Calhoun to a concurrent 15-year term for an unrelated charge of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute drugs while being held in the Lucas County jail.

Calhoun and others were indicted in 2010 on charges they recruited teens to perform sex acts for pay via the Internet.

Three co-defendants also were sentenced Wednesday. Marissa Mayers, who pleaded guilty to conspiracy, was placed on probation for five years. Shaina Perry and Carrie Schuster, who also pleaded guilty to conspiracy, were placed on supervised release for three years.

A fifth co-defendant, Damien Harris, pleaded guilty in 2011 to transportation in interstate commerce with intent to engage in prostitution and was sentenced to two years in prison.
