Toledo man admits he raped 2-year-old girl

Aubrey Dale Marshall, 58, shown in an earlier court appearance, plead guilty today to two counts of raping a 2-year-old.

A registered sex offender admitted today that he raped a 2-year-old girl left in his care.

Aubrey Dale Marshall, 57, of 2611 Lagrange St., pleaded guilty to two counts of rape before Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Ruth Ann Franks. He faces 15 years to life in prison when he is sentenced July 26.

As part of a plea agreement, prosecutors are asking that Judge Franks dismiss a charge of failure to register his address with the county sheriff – something he has been required to do since his conviction in 2003 for unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.

Marshall admitted he raped a 2-year-old girl March 30 at a home in North Toledo. The woman who left the child in his care -- Connie Elam, 28, of 3321 Maple St. – faces a charge of endangering children. Her case is set for trial July 22.
