Putnam Co. jury trial for teen to be Nov. 4

OTTAWA, Ohio — The trial of a 17-year-old from Ottawa charged in the slayings of two brothers is to be Nov. 4 in Putnam County Common Pleas Court.

Judge Randall Basinger set the date for a jury trial during a pretrial hearing Thursday for Michael Aaron Fay.

He is charged with two counts of aggravated murder, two counts of abuse of a corpse, one count of tampering with evidence, and one count of grand theft of a motor vehicle.

He is accused of killing Blaine Romes, 14, and Blake Romes, 17 on May 9 in the home in Ottawa that all three boys lived in with their mothers.
