Three new members have been named to the advisory board of Lucas County Court Appointed Special Advocates.

They are the Rev. Robert Culp, pastor of First Church of God and a former president of the Toledo branch of the NAACP; Shirley Green, a retired Toledo police lieutenant who is the city’s director of public safety and personnel, and Pastor Kathi Pitts, a founder of Cornerstone Church, who supervises its ministries related to families and children. CASA volunteers are trained to investigate and monitor child abuse cases — and to be advocates for victims to get safe, permanent homes and not get lost in the system.
