A former corrections officer at the Lucas County jail was indicted Friday along with two others on charges they were involved in a drug-smuggling ring at the jail.

Michelle Vining, 33, a 10-year corrections officer who resigned from the sheriff’s office earlier this month, was indicted for aggravated trafficking in drugs, trafficking in marijuana, and illegal conveyance of drugs of abuse onto the grounds of a detention facility.

Salina Perez, who also is known as Salina Sosbe, 29, of 418 3rd St. and Jesse Perez, 33, of 1003 Mott Ave. were indicted on the same charges. Salina Perez allegedly got the drugs to the jail with the help of Ms. Vining, who then delivered them to Jesse Perez for use or sale in the jail.
