A registered nurse charged with stealing prescription drugs from her former employer was granted intervention in lieu of a conviction Tuesday.

Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Myron Duhart agreed to hold Dawn Searcy Printke’s guilty plea in abeyance while she completes a treatment plan that could result in the dismissal of the charge.

Searcy Printke, 48, of Delta had worked at the University of Toledo Medical Center, the former Medical College of Ohio, through ABC Health Care Inc. in 2012 when the theft of drugs was discovered. As part of her intervention plan, Judge Duhart ordered her to ingest no drugs or alcohol, to be tested through urinalysis, and to sign a release allowing her physician and pharmacy to communicate with her probation officer.
