BOWLING GREEN – A Bowling Green man charged in the death of his 3-month-old son pleaded guilty today in Wood County Common Pleas Court.

Brian Steinmiller, 32, entered guilty pleas before Judge Robert Pollex to involuntary manslaughter and two counts of endangering children stemming from the May 5, 2012 death of Carter Steinmiller.

An autopsy determined the infant died from head trauma.

Judge Pollex accepted his plea and scheduled sentencing for Nov. 22 for Steinmiller, who is being held in the Wood County jail on $500,000 bond. Prosecutors said they would be recommending a 10-year prison sentence.

The child’s mother, Rebecca Steinmiller, 26, is charged with one count of endangering children, a third-degree felony, for allegedly failing to report the abuse to her son to authorities or seek medical attention for him.

Her case is scheduled for a “pretrial conference/change of plea” Oct. 29. She is free on a recognizance bond.
